From the Netherlands to Malaysia: A Journey Driven by Purpose
Born in the Netherlands as Peter Buitelaar, I have embarked on a remarkable professional and personal journey, during which I converted to Islam in 2013 (obtained the name Mohd Parid Jaya), a decision that has taken me across continents and through significant challenges. Since 2019, I have made Malaysia my home, where I continue to work, driven by a deep commitment to human rights and the pursuit of meaningful societal change.
Overcoming Roadblocks and Making a Difference.
Looking back, my journey has been nothing short of thrilling. I have encountered and overcome numerous roadblocks, each of which has shaped my resolve and deepened my understanding of the complex world in which we live. My work has often placed me at the frontline of addressing ongoing violations of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, including confronting issues such as slavery, human trafficking, corruption, and a wide range of physical and emotional abuses. In each case, my goal has been to make even a slight positive difference, contributing to the fight against injustice and supporting those most affected.
The Three Pillars of My Career.
My career is firmly grounded in three main pillars: education in Psychology, expertise in Human Rights Laws and Regulations, and advanced skills in Tax Laws and Information Analytics. This unique combination has enabled me to approach my work with a holistic and forensic mindset, always striving to understand the broader context and root causes of the issues at hand. I am driven not only to identify and address the core problems but also to empower bystanders and (potential) victims. My aim is to help them find sustainable solutions for their working lives—solutions that allow for dignity, opportunity, and resilience.
Conclusion.
My journey from the Netherlands to Malaysia reflects a deep commitment to social justice, lifelong learning, and building a better world for future generations. As I continue this path, I remain dedicated to upholding human rights, fostering sustainable solutions, and inspiring others to join in the pursuit of a more equitable and compassionate society.
